A management consultant with over thirty years of progressive, diverse
healthcare experience, Ms. Pierce provides consulting services in the
areas of administration, operational assessment, productivity management,
rural health and senior health care clinic operations and regulatory
compliance issues. At the hospital level, her past positions have included
Emergency Department Director, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating
Officer, and Administrator. Experience at the corporate level has included
internal audit and equipment planning.
For five years from 1989 to 1994, Ms. Pierce served as Corporate Director of
Nursing/Productivity to a major hospital chain with 3 owned and 7 managed
hospitals. Her extensive experience with JCAHO and federal/state standards
made Jo a Key member of a corporate management team assisting hospitals in
successful resolution regulatory compliance issues, including strategic
planning and emergency preparedness. Additionally she served on the Houston
Hospital Council assisting with planning for coordination of services
between hospitals, ambulance services, fire department, police department
and health care agencies in the event of a major disaster.
Since 1990, as a healthcare consultant Ms. Pierce has assisted hospitals
and clinics in ten states with organizational, management and productivity
issues. Serving as administrator for terms from six to fourteen months,
Ms. Pierce has always receiving high mask from private (JCAHO), state
(Departments of Health and Human Services), and federal (Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid) regulatory agencies.
Ms. Pierce received her nursing education from Texas Christian University
in Fort Worth, Texas and did post-graduate work at Texas Tech University
in Lubbock, Texas.
